I love this shoe. It performs better than expected and fits perfectly. Only reason for 4 star and not 5.. the fabric inside the heel has not held up it is tornmakes my heel uncomfortable when walking long distances.

Very comfortable for hiking! Haven’t tested the waterproof ability yet though!

These shoes got good reviews on many websites for outdoor gear. Since the toe was rounded, I ordered an 8.5 and it was too short. I’m reordering in a 9 and hope it will fit since there are only a few outdoor stores where I am living.

These are fit great and look really nice. I’m normally between 6.5W-7W, and the 7W fits great. Truly a wide width, which is what I need. Very comfortable right out of the box with great hiking tread. Most shoes are uncomfortable for me, so a 5-star from me means a lot!

These wide Merrells fit my foot perfectly . I have bunions and am hard to fit in a hiking boot. So far the longest hike I have taken was 5 miles. The trails have been ( what I call nice ) not too rocky, sand, or Forrest floor. I think if I did a challenging hike.. more rocks, stream crossings etc. I would prefer a more substantial boot.

I tried on a pair of Merrell shoes in Rack Room in 9.5 and they fit so I ordered these in 9.5 and they were too small. I wear a 10 in Brooks Ghost and needed a 10 in these. I’m trying other brands because I need a little more cushioning and flexibility. I feel like I’m too clumsy for bulky shoes. The Granite is as dark as the pic on Zappos shows. I know this isn’t the best review but maybe it will help someone choose a size. I couldn’t walk around in them long enough to get a good opinion on them. They felt shorter than a normal 9.5, a size I wear in some shoes.

Awesome wearing these shoes! I wear size 5–hard to find, so I’m a fan of Zappos! I haven’t bought shoes in a while. I’d rather be shoe shopping for real, trying them on. Zappos has a really good selection range, so I get to try a lot of shoes in my living room. I bought 8 pairs; none of the first 7 were right. This was the last pair I tried on—immediately they fit like a glove! I wore them almost out of the box on hiking trails this morning. I and my feet feel fine. So happy to have these just-what-I-wanted good shoes.

Shoes are quite comfortable with thicker hiking socks. My feet are AA width.
Shoe laces are way too short! I will have to replace them quickly.

Too small and too narrow.

I purposely buy 1/2 size larger to account for feel swelling while hiking. This is my 5th pair of Merricks. These were perfect right out of the box. Normally I have to use additional arch support. I did not with these shoes. Don’t know how well the waterproofing is yet.

They reshaped the entire footbed and moved the arch of the footbed. I can no longer wear these. Been buying them for years.
Michelle –
The fit is true to size, and width, but, it feels like the shoe lifts up in the heel area a bit.
I haven’t tested the waterproof aspect in soaking wet conditions yet, but so far it’s been waterproof in moderately wet conditions (like after a big rain and the grass is still wet).

This is my “go to” hiking shoe when doing lots of walking on difficult surfaces. The thick padding from the waterproof feature provides extra foot comfort not found in other shoes.

I love Merrell shoes and hiking boots. These are replacing my older Moabs that I have been very happy with. Time for a new pair and the Moab 3 Waterproof really fit the bill. Regarding size, I am a true 8 but with Merrell shoes always have to order 8.5. Highly recommend these shoes!
Elizabeth –
Seems to run small, especially if wearing thicker socks. Will be returning.

I bought these in case the Merrell Vent 2’s didn’t work out – the Vents were cheaper, perhaps last year’s model. These Moab 3’s take the cake! They are so comfortable on my foot, and I needed a Wide width and the W’s are perfect. Highly recommend.
Melissa –
These shoes are very comfortable and are the only shoe with a back that are not painful to wear due to Achilles tendonitis. I hike 4 miles a day and am pain free again. Only wish this design was available in vegan friendly construction.

They are good looking, comfortable and have soles that help to keep you from sliding, oh and are waterproof. What more could you ask for?

Ended up going with this shoe in a different color. Tried many brands and for my foot this felt the most comfortable. As with most hiking shoes, a bit stiff but overall more comfortable than other brands.
Teresa –
I purchased these and the non-waterproof. These are heavier than the non ones, which was interesting. However, my issue with these is the tongue. They bunch together and rub on the top of the foot. The non-waterproof do not bunch together and the fabric is softer.

I loved these shoes so much! I took them on a 10 day trip throughout Scotland, and they made the hiking and walking so much easier. And I stepped in a boggy area where one shoe was significantly covered with mud. Never felt anything come through the shoe! My feet stayed completely dry throughout the trip.

My Merrells were a perfect choice for my hiking trip. Traversed a fair amount of wet mud, rocks and boulders and my shoes we’re comfortable and dry. These were my first Merrell shoes and I would definitely buy them all over again.
Venita –
Fit true to size. Wide width. Waterproof. Fairly lightweight. My feet do get warm in warm weather in them, but otherwise- love these shoes! They were comfortable with no break In required

Bought these a week ago, after I basically wore my unlikely hikers out in the past 6 months! The Moab 3 is one of Merrell’s best made hiking shoes. So much more support than the old Moab’s, much beefier, comfortable right out of the box, better tread,no slipping here.I own 11 pairs of Merrell hiking shoes and I can honestly say the Moab 3 and unlikely hikers are the best. My only complaint, is you don’t have any old broads as shoe testers! You all have neglected the great old broads market. I’m 65 year old avid hiker ,averaging 30 to 50 miles a week. Since I live in Colorado, I wear your shoes everyday to hike the trails by my home, from Rocky Mt. N.P. to the Flatirons. So instead of always having a cute, young person in your ads ,you need to start putting great old broads in, who actually hike everyday in your shoes!

Moab waterproof works well. I had to size up a full size due to the shoe sort of narrowing too soon in the toe area. That is the toe next to the pinky had insufficient room, even though it is Wide width. Otherwise the larger shoes work very well. Waterproof feature is very helpful.
Zappos always so fast, and accurate.
